ESTIMATES
If
you are serious about doing a dial restoration I will provide you with
an estimate. Virtually all the dials I restore are sent to me. When
choosing a dial restorer remember that as with most services, you get
what you pay for: choosing the lowest price in the market often brings
inferior quality. Although doing total strip and repaints of dials is
more profitable bringing a higher profit ratio for fewer hours spent,
that is not restorative work, and that is not what I do.
Price
of a dial restoration will vary depending on the amount of time and effort required. No job is considered
too small, but usually by the time a dial looks bad it is more than a
simple matter. If you want me to restore a dial you will find me very capable and courteous to work with, but your cooperation is necessary. The first step is to send me clear, detailed photos of the dial,
including good close-ups of the areas of it that need to be repaired. If you send me unclear photos in which I cannot see detail, I cannot give you an estimate.
Based upon what I can see in your photos I will give you a price range
of what the dial restoration will cost. In most cases photos do provide
what I need to know; however, please realize that there are some
situations in which a photo cannot reveal certain details. Upon your
approval of the preliminary estimate, I will provide you with details on
how to send the dial to me; once I examine it physically I will quote a
final fee for the restoration, virtually always within the range I
initially
gave you. Work begins on your dial restoration when payment is
received.
